Lead qualification

Understand the inquiry before the consultation.

In this workflow, qualification means understanding a borrower’s stated goal, timeline and desired next step. It does not mean approving a loan, deciding eligibility or replacing the licensed officer.

Separate conversation readiness from credit decisions

A borrower who wants a call tomorrow is ready for a conversation. That fact says nothing by itself about approval, affordability, product eligibility or a specific rate. Keep the assistant’s discovery task separate from the people and systems responsible for lending decisions.

LoanWick uses available Bonzo history and officer instructions to continue discovery. Preserve whether a detail came from the borrower, a CRM note, or an unanswered question. Do not turn an inferred interest into a verified application fact.

Ask only what changes the next step

Ask only what changes the next step
Useful contextFictional question exampleHow to use it
GoalAre you looking to buy, refinance, or discuss another option?Skip if the borrower already stated it
TimingWhen would you like to take the next step?Respect uncertain or longer-term plans
Conversation preferenceWould a quick call with your officer help?Do not infer a booking from a friendly reply
Open questionWhat would you like the officer to cover?Save the question without guessing an answer

These examples are suggested scripts, not a guaranteed generated sequence or a customer transcript.

Do not repeat a discovery form in a text thread

Before asking, review what is already available and whether it still applies. A changed plan deserves a short clarification. An absent answer should remain missing, not be filled in from a model’s expectations. Sensitive financial documents and account identifiers do not belong in a public demo.

Already knownThe fictional borrower said they want to refinance and prefer an afternoon call.

Unhelpful restartAre you buying or refinancing? What time works for you?

Contextual next turnWhat would you like your officer to focus on when you talk about refinancing?

Prepare an officer-ready summary

  1. Keep stated facts

Record the borrower’s actual purpose, timing and preferred next step with the relevant conversation context.

  2. Mark unknowns

List unanswered questions and uncertainties rather than presenting them as settled facts.

  3. Use the assigned officer

Carry the conversation to the correct owner and their booking instructions.

  4. Verify completion

Inspect the stored appointment or task and enabled notice channel before treating the handoff as successful.

Questions before you choose

Lead qualification: common questions.

Can mortgage AI qualify leads by text?
It can collect conversational context such as the stated goal, timeline and interest in speaking. That is not credit underwriting or a loan-approval decision.
Should the assistant ask every borrower the same questions?
Use a general discovery outline, then skip answered items and adapt to the actual conversation. Ask only what helps choose the next action.
What if the borrower changes from buying to refinancing?
Clarify the new goal, preserve the prior conversation as history, and give the officer the current stated purpose rather than silently overwriting uncertainty.
Can I test qualification without contacting borrowers?
Yes. The browser demo uses fictional conversations and does not send real SMS. Test answered, missing and contradictory details before activating outreach.
