The reply is where purchase leads go cold
Follow Up Boss can send an automated text to a new lead and run drip emails that pause when the lead responds. That is a good start. But a pause means the next message now depends on a person. A buyer who just asked about pre-approval wants an answer while they are thinking about it, not after your last appointment of the day.
Many Follow Up Boss leads are purchase buyers coming through real estate agents. Buyers often talk to an agent and a lender in the same week. If your reply is slow, the agent may move the client to a lender who answered first. That is the speed-to-lead problem, and it lives in the reply, not the first auto-text.
Lender seats change who should text
Follow Up Boss lets teams add lenders as users with a Lender role. According to its help center, lenders see only leads assigned to them, and can text or call a lead only if they have the Follow Up Boss Dialer. Some loan officers instead run their own Follow Up Boss account.
Those setups need different rules. On an agent’s team account, the agent owns the relationship and you are a collaborator. An assistant that texts every lead it can see would be a problem. The planned connection is designed to work only on leads assigned to you and in the stages you approve, and to step back when you or the agent are already in the conversation.
How it will work with Follow Up Boss (in progress)
One open question is the sending path. Follow Up Boss’s API documentation says texts created through the API are recorded as logs only, not sent. So which phone number sends the assistant’s texts, and how they show up in Follow Up Boss, is part of the setup we are still building. We will confirm the details with each trial account rather than guess.
