Does Bonzo’s AI reply to leads?

Does Bonzo’s AI reply to leads automatically?

Quick answer: Bonzo’s help center, checked October 17, 2026, doesn’t describe its built-in AI replying to leads on its own. Spark and the newer Bonzai write campaigns, event messages and draft replies, and the Bonzai Assistant checks with you before it sends. LoanWick is a separate assistant that holds live two-way text conversations inside Bonzo, using lead history and your stage rules.

The answer below is from Bonzo’s help center, for a Bonzo user who wants inbound replies handled.

The short answer

Last checked October 17, 2026, against Bonzo’s public help center. The sections below cite those articles. They are not a test of one Bonzo seat.

What Bonzo’s built-in AI does today

Spark writes the campaign

The Spark article, updated January 6, 2025, says Spark generates a campaign from a goal, a style, sending days and events per day, plus individual event messages. Event-message generation costs 10 tokens per click.

Bonzai launched October 13, 2026

Meet Bonzai, updated October 15, calls Bonzai the AI built into Bonzo. The Assistant asks before it sends or changes anything. Creation Flow builds campaigns, and nothing goes live until you review it. Compose’s sparkle button suggests a first draft.

Calls, video, and what is still rolling out

The same article describes Call Review, transcription, a Voice Profile, ringless voicemail and personalized video, and says more Bonzai features are rolling out soon. It does not say Bonzai replaced Spark.

A preset text is not an AI reply

“Auto-respond to texts after shift” is one custom preset text. Campaigns can stop when a prospect responds, and a loop campaign can continue for leads who do not. Those are automations, not a documented AI conversation.

Sub-articles linked from Meet Bonzai, such as a Compose how-to or a Bonzai price page, did not turn up in the help center search on October 17, 2026. This page does not describe them.

What Bonzo’s docs do not describe

The Spark and Meet Bonzai articles do not describe an AI that holds the live two-way conversation on its own. Compose suggests a first draft, and the Assistant asks before it sends. You are still in the send path.

Bonzo’s July 31, 2026 release notes mention an inbox indicator for prospects “your AI responder is engaged with.” The note does not say whose AI that is. Confirm it with Bonzo before you assume a built-in auto-reply.

How LoanWick handles the reply inside Bonzo

LoanWick reads available Bonzo history, notes, pipeline stage and the assigned officer’s settings. It sends through Bonzo only if opt-out, hold, timing and recent-human-activity checks pass. Inbound replies take priority.

In stages you enable, it follows up with quiet leads after those checks. It can offer times from the officer’s availability and booking link. External calendar busy times are not synced.

It steps back when the loan officer texts. An optional, configurable wait can give the officer the first chance to reply, and that wait is not always on. Sends respect the lead’s local contact window. Outreach stays off until activation is approved.

Using Bonzo’s AI and LoanWick together

Spark or Bonzai can write the nurture campaign. LoanWick can take the reply, and follow up only in stages you turn on. Split those stages so one lead does not get both at once. Bonzo campaigns can stop when a prospect responds. LoanWick does not build the campaign sequence.

Questions before you choose

Does Bonzo’s AI reply to leads?: common questions.

Does Bonzo have AI?
Yes. Bonzo’s help center describes Spark and, since October 13, 2026, Bonzai, which it calls the AI built into Bonzo. This page was checked on October 17, 2026.
Does Bonzo Spark reply to leads for me?
The Spark article describes generating campaigns and event messages, not holding a live two-way conversation. That article says event-message generation costs 10 tokens per click.
What is Bonzai?
Bonzai is the AI Bonzo launched on October 13, 2026. Its help article says the Assistant asks before it sends or changes anything, Creation Flow stays off until you review it, and Compose suggests a first draft.
Does Bonzo’s “auto-respond after shift” use AI?
No. Bonzo’s communication settings describe it as one custom preset text sent after a shift, not an AI conversation.
How do I get AI to text my Bonzo leads back?
LoanWick is a separate assistant that reads Bonzo history and your stage rules, then sends a reply through Bonzo when its checks pass. The browser demo uses fictional leads and sends no texts.
Can I use Bonzo’s AI and LoanWick together?
Yes. Spark or Bonzai can write the nurture campaign, and LoanWick can take the reply. Split stages so the same lead does not get overlapping messages.
Is LoanWick made by Bonzo?
No. LoanWick is independent. It is not made, sponsored or endorsed by Bonzo.
